Facts and history
Organic Farm and Garden Supplies (Pty) Ltd, (94/04907/07) with its subsidiary penac Southern Africa is a South African based company situated in Durbanville, Western Cape. 100% of the
shares are still owned by the founder, Helga Dietrich.
Organic Farm and Garden Supplies’ original target market was the organic producer market. But as we were ahead of the time with this target and also believe it is more important for
the environment to reduce chemicals on thousands of hectars conventional farming and life stock than the impact we would make on, at that time, a few hundred hectars of fully organic land, we changed our direction.
From 1996 on we began to concentrate on the conventional farming, although not forgetting th organic market. Presently 98% of our agricultural business is in conventional farming but the organic market is growing
rapidly.
Organic Farm and Garden Supplies/penac SA provides solutions to all agricultural problems including stock farming and husbandry on a natural basis. Amongst these are:
Soil (humus, fertility, and water retention capacity)
Plants (resistance, fertility, quality, quantity)
Animals (health, performance, production)
Water (stabilization of waste and effluent water, vitalization of ground, surface and municipal water, industrial water problems).
Organic Farm and Garden Supplies also provides consulting and environmental guidance on request. We continuously seek for new products which would supplement our existing non
chemical and non toxic range. NB: The need to reduce and where possible to eliminate the use of chemicals is growing from day to day and our products and services offer the ideal solutions.
Organic Farm and Garden Supplies/penac SA stands on sound financial ground. The sales figures from March 1 to October 14 have increased by 172.2% between 1998 and 1999. Up to now
our main activities were in Western Cape, but Upington, Kimberley, Kroonstad, Bloemfontein, Bethlehem, PE and Natal are becoming very active. Presently we cover approximately 1% of the potential market in
South Africa not considering any of the other countries. We are looking for business partners in all African countries, the US, Australia and the Middle East.
