penac-p as biological additive in grass silage
Dosage:
To treat 100 m³ Grass silage, 300g penac-p were mixed with 5kg-whey powder in water. The mixture stood for several hours before being applied.
Application:
- with garden watering can, every 3-4 loads of grass being brought in. Final application on top of silage. (Average N application in 1996; 1997 begin of growing season penac-g slurry)Results:
This is in comparison to the 1996 results (nothing added to the silage) and 1997 (treated as mentioned above) conducted by the Landeskuratoruim der Erzeugerringe für tierische Veredlung (similar to own provincial producer organization).

The recorded raw protein content is noticeably higher in the 1997 penac-p and whey treated silage. Same procedures were practiced at several farms with same excellent results and will be continued. The animals seem to prefer this silage to others.
