OFGS N12 - Moth Complex

The adults are readily recognized by the scales that cover their bodies and wings. Their mouthparts, which are coiled beneath the head and extended as a suctorial proboscis, are used to imbibe fluids such as nectar from the flowers of plants. It is the immature larvae or caterpillars, infinitely varied in habit and appearance that damage plants by feeding with their paired, usually powerfully developed, jaws or mandibles. Caterpillars have six thoracic legs and a few or several pairs of fleshy, so called prolegs on the abdomen. These prolegs end in a circle of hooks know as crotchets that are unique to the lepidoptera.

LIFE CYCLE
Eggs are laid between the leaf sheaths or near the buds of fruit trees or on the fruit.  The female moth may lay up to 1000 eggs in her life span.  The eggs hatch in about 7-14 days and the larvae make their way up to the unfurled upper leaves or they enter the fruit and the pip where they feed and impede development. The larvae feed up to six weeks and then seek a suitable place to form a cocoon or hibernaculum. The larvae pupate within a day or two in early summer and emerge as adults some 2-3 weeks later.

DIRECTIONS FOR CONTROL
Foliar spray with penac N12 water soluble and suitable for use in conventional liquid foliar and irrigation water applications.  Dilute 80ml to 500l water.  See your agricultural dealer for further information. NOTE: Application should take place late afternoon or at fist light before sun depletes the natural moisture on foliage. Repeat as needed to control pests, paying attention to the life cycles of the insect in your region. For fruit and vegetables, spraying again as fruit begins to form.
We recommend the addition of 0.1% Agricultural Wetting agent to the final mix. This will provide fast penetration to plants and soil.

Our recommendations are believed to be effective.  Since the use of this organic blend is beyond penac and its retailers control, no expressed or implied guarantee as to the effects of its use can be given, nor liability taken.

STORAGE
As with any essential oil product, keep in a cool place, out of sunlight, and its closure tightly sealed.  Store below 25C
