OFGS N8 - White Fly Complex
Adults: moth like 2mm long insects with powdery white wings, most rest on the
undersides of top leaves of plants.
Larvae; flattened, legless, translucent 2mm, scales found on the undersides of lower leaves. Eggs grey or yellow, pinpoint cones often laid semicircles on leaf
undersides. Nymphs and adults suck plant juices, weakening plants. Soothy moulds grow on honeydew excreted on leaves and fruit. Feeding spreads virus diseases.
Female lays eggs, which hatch in 2 days into mobile scales.
These moult to a legless nymphal stage and continue to feed on undersides of leaves until they pupate. The life cycle takes 20-30 days at 22°C, less at warmer temperatures. Numerous overlapping generations occur per
year, continuing all winter in greenhouses and warm climates.
DIRECTIONS FOR CONTROL
Foliar spray with penac N8 is 1000% water soluble
and suitable for use in conventional liquid foliar and irrigation water applications.
Spray 80ml to 500l water. Spray the top and undersides of plants to deter adult and larvae immediately after planting seeds,
spray when germinating occurs, again in 21 days. This will provide protection and give the plant a healthy start.
Repeat as needed to control pests, paying attention to the life cycle of the insect in control
larvae with weekly sprays of white fly complex. For fruit and vegetables, spray again as fruit begins to form.
We recommend the addition of 0.1% Agricultural Wetting agent to the final mix. This will
provide fast penetration to plants and soil.
Our recommendations are believed to be effective. Since the use of this
organic blend is beyond penac and it’s retailers control, no expressed or implied guarantee as to the effects of its use can be given, nor liability taken.
As with any essential oil product, keep in a cool place, out of
sunlight, and its closure tightly sealed. Store below 25°C
